Officials would say one gallon/person/day.
Clean drinking water in an emergency situation is your top priority.
The minimum amount of water needed for a normally active person each day is 2 quarts (1/2 gallon).
Those living in very hot temperatures, nursing mothers, young children, and the elderly or infirm, will need more than that.
You also need to remember that you will need water for your personal hygiene and for food preparation.

In a time of crisis, your family could be without aid or basic necessities beyond those already in your possession for days, and even weeks.
It’s an excellent goal to aim for a 2 week supply of water and food, but if that isn’t possible, do the best you can. This is intended to be a source to guide you through the process of slowly (perhaps) and steadily (for sure) adding to your supply.
Food can be rationed, and we can even live without food for some time, but water is a necessity, and ample water, at that.
Keeping cool and lowering your activity level are ways to limit your need for water above the imperative minimum, but in an emergency situation, limiting your activity and/or staying cool may be impossible.
